A few months ago I had a tight connection in Madrid that almost made me miss my onward flight, but staff helped me get through security fast and I still made it. The in-flight service is solid, meals are okay, nothing fancy but satisfying enough for the duration. Iberia feels like a solid choice when you want a good balance between price and decent service for transatlantic flights.

I flew Iberia from Chicago to Madrid last month and honestly, it was one of the best long haul trips I’ve had. The seats had good legroom for economy, which surprised me. Booked a business class ticket from New York to Madrid thinking everything would be smooth but my flight got cancelled last minute due to technical issues. The airline rebooked me on a later flight but the wait at the airport was long and the communication was poor. Thankfully the premium lounge access helped pass time, but I was really annoyed by how last-minute it was. The new flight was comfortable and the crew were professional, but the whole experience could have been handled better with clearer updates and faster rebooking options.

My flight from Madrid to New York was smooth but the boarding was delayed almost 40 minutes without much info. Cabin crew was polite and the in-flight entertainment had plenty to choose from. Would use Iberia again but hope they improve punctuality.

The flight itself was okay, the plane was clean and the entertainment system was working fine. However, I ran into issues with the baggage claim at Madrid airport my suitcase was delayed by nearly an hour with no clear updates. Also the customer support chat wasn’t very responsive when I tried to inquire. So kind of a mixed bag for me, not sure if I’d pick Iberia again soon.
