Mixed feelings on data performance
I switched to Mint Mobile to save money and at first, the deal seemed great. The coverage uses a top network but I found data speed inconsistent, especially during rush hour subway rides. Also, the app occasionally crashed when I tried to check my data usage which was annoying but manageable. Customer support was polite but sometimes slow to respond which added to my frustration when I had a billing question. For casual use, it’s ok, but if you heavily rely on mobile internet, you might want to look elsewhere.
Mixed experience with coverage and support
I signed up for Mint Mobile a year ago because I wanted a cheaper prepaid option with decent nationwide coverage. While calls and texts have been mostly fine, I’ve noticed data speeds drop significantly during peak hours especially in downtown Chicago. The app is straightforward, but once my payment didn’t go through properly and it took more than 24 hours to fix that through customer service which was annoying. On a positive note, switching plans is easy and I like that they send reminders before the plan expires. But the occasional coverage blackout and slow support response make me hesitant to fully recommend it for heavy data users.
