Awesome for budget travelers
I found a lovely hostel in Lisbon thanks to Hostelworld’s detailed description and lots of photos. The ability to see upcoming events at hostels helped me pick a lively place. My booking process was smooth and the cancellation policy was clearly stated, which gave me peace of mind. Only wish the app had offline mode because I lost signal a couple of times while traveling.

Good platform, small glitches
Used Hostelworld to book in Budapest and Prague. Loved the user reviews and location maps. The booking confirmation emails arrived quick, but the app crashed twice during browsing. Nothing major but a bit annoying when trying to compare prices fast. Overall still happy and will use again.

Good selection but app glitches
Used Hostelworld twice now and the range of hostels is great, helped me find budget stays in Europe easily. But the app kept crashing on me while trying to finalize payment which was pretty frustrating. Customer support was decent and managed to sort it out eventually, just hope they fix those bugs soon.

Helpful but could improve filtering
The site shows loads of hostels and honest reviews which is great. I wish the filter for private rooms was a bit better though, sometimes I had to dig through mixed results. Still, I found some awesome budget places in Paris and Rome with no issues.

Mixed feelings overall
Hostelworld gave me lots of options and the user reviews were handy for avoiding bad spots. However, during my stay in Vienna, the hostel I booked had a maintenance issue that wasn’t mentioned anywhere. Support was slow to respond and I had to find alternative accommodation last minute. Could be better with real-time updates about hostel conditions.
