I've been using italki for several months to improve my Mandarin but honestly it’s a bit of a hit-or-miss experience. Some tutors are amazing and patient, but others seem rushed or unprepared. The platform itself sometimes glitches during live sessions and my payment got delayed once which was frustrating. I do appreciate the extensive tutor profiles that help choose the right teacher but wish the app was more stable overall.

Signed up last year hoping to improve my Japanese. The tutors are great and cover a huge range of dialects which is cool. However, the app crashes sometimes during lessons which can throw off the flow. I contacted support and they responded but didn't have a clear fix for the repeated crashes. Also wish the booking process was a bit more streamlined because sometimes my lesson requests get stuck pending. I’m staying hopeful but it could be better.
